Here at Thistledown, we raise grass fed lamb using sustainable, organic methods.
You won't see us sheering our sheep for wool, though. Our flock is comprised mostly of Katahdin sheep which are known as hair sheep. Rather than wool producers, Katahdins are arguably the best flavored meat sheep available. Year round grass feeding results in tender meat with a mild flavor. Our Great Pyrenees watches over the flock throughout the year.
Lamb is a versatile, wonderfully flavorful meat that is perfect for burgers, gyros and roasts. It can be grilled up quickly or simmered all day into a hearty, rich stew or Shepherd's pie.
